Wait… they didn't want the agency... they wanted me?!

This wasn't part of some big master plan. In all honestly... it happened by accident.

A few years ago, I was working at a small marketing agency managing 70+ clients. I learned a lot yet something always felt off. Everything moved fast, like SO fast. Marketing became a checklist, hit the KPIs, finish the task and onto the next client. It didn't feel personal.

Two months before I was due with my second baby, I was laid off because of company downsizing. The funny part? I already planned to leave before my baby was due. Still, I was upset. Not because I wanted to stay but because it wasn't my on my terms…

A few weeks after my son was born, my phone started going off and a client reached out. Then another. Then another. Wait… what… they didn't want the agency... they wanted me?!

At first, I thought, “Sure. It'll be a little extra income while I'm home with the kids.”

That was it. No business plan. No fancy vision board. No goal of becoming an entrepreneur.

I just kept saying yes… and something clicked.

I realized the part I loved wasn't just reviewing performance data or creating SMS sequences. It was learning people's stories. It was understanding their customers. It was finding what made each business different.

For the first time, I could slow down. I could actually be intentional with what I’m doing and really become a part of these peoples teams, families, businesses, brands, everything.

Somewhere along the way, Dove Creative Co. stopped feeling like a side hustle. It started feeling like exactly what I was meant to build.

Today, I still believe marketing should feel personal. That's why I intentionally keep my client list small. I'd rather build real relationships than manage dozens of accounts.

I definitely don't want 70 clients, I just want the right ones.
